(Art 365) design for the WWW
Due date: Week #11
(the week of April 6th & [fri] April 8th )
Time: at the beginning of your Art365 class
Pick a topic that you would like to do research on (not a person).
- Write 2 paragraphs about the research project.
- Think of how to apply user experience design to a website.
Design and build an informative website based on your research.
Who is your audience?
What is the best way to present your topic of interest?
How does your design relate to the subject matter?
- Demonstrate the ability to use HTML & CSS code
( you can use Dreamweaver )
- Practice onscreen Typography
* use sound, or video
* use a slideshow, or animation
- Make something that is easy to navigate, easy to read, and looks great
You must use 1 External Style Sheet
You must use sound, or video.
You must use ( high quality ) images of your topic.
You must use a slideshow, or animation.
- all webpages must have titles (no untitled documents) & at least 1 heading
- the 1st page should be saved as index.html
Your project must be turned in by the due date, and uploaded to a server before class
As always, it must look good
* More importantly, make something that will look good in your portfolio
this week (due week#9 March 23 & [friday] 25th )
- come up with an idea, write a paragraph or 2 about it
** save as a pdf file
**add link from your class web page, to your .pdf file
**draw site structure and wire frames
- You might want to get started on your HTML & CSS over the break
the following week ( when we get back from break )
- have some html pages (& CSS) finished
- finish as much of the site as you can
- add sound, or video
- try adding a slideshow, or animation
what you will turn in on the due date:
1) Have your site uploaded to a server before class
2) You will turn in a directory with:
- all images used in the site

all the .html pages
-
and CSS should be turned in
(I will copy them to an external hard drive, so be prepared)
3) You will present your work to the rest of the class
Your grade will be determined by your ability to turn things in on time, and follow directions.
The grade for your finished project will be based on your attention to detail, and the overall look of the website.
All webpages designed for the site should have a consistent design or "feel".
All pages should be clearly labeled, have titles, and all the links should work.
Make sure your site is easy to navigate.
Your presentation will also affect your grade.
