Assignment:

Pick a topic that you would like to do research on.
Write 2 paragraphs about the research project.
Think of how to apply user experience design to a website.
Design and build an informative website based on your research.

Things to think about:

Who is your audience?
What is the best way to present your topic of interest?
How does your design relate to the subject matter?

Requirements:

* You must use 1 External Style Sheet
You must use sound, or video.
You must use ( high quality ) images of your topic.
You must use a slideshow, or animation.

Your project must be turned in by the due date, and uploaded to a server before class
As always, it must look good
* More importantly, make something that will look good in your portfolio

Timeline:

This week :

come up with an idea, write a paragraph about it
** save as a pdf file
**** add link from your class web page, to your .pdf file
**draw site structure and wire frames

The following week :

- have some html pages finished
- finish as much of the site as you can
- rough draft due March 13th

{ SPRING BREAK : MARCH 15 - 22 }

- make your webpages look better
( you can continue working on "Project A" too )

What you will turn in on the due date :

1) Have your site uploaded to a server before class

2) You will turn in a directory with:
- all images used in the site
- all the .html pages
- and CSS should be turned in
( I will copy them to an external harddrive, so be prepared )

3) You will present your work to the rest of the class

Grading:

Your grade will be determined by your ability to turn things in on time, and follow directions.
The grade for your finished project will be based on your attention to detail, and the overall look of the website.

All webpages designed for the site should have a consistent design or "feel".
All pages should be clearly labeled, have titles, and all the links should work.
Make sure your site is easy to navigate.
Your presentation will also affect your grade.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions.
