About Bauhaus

The Bauhaus School was started in Germany in 1919 by Walter Gropius. The school attempted to unify art with mass production and user experience. Bauhaus design was based around practicality and the aesthetics were based around minimalism, prioritizing the function of the product and the user experience. Bauhaus design relied on simple geometry in order to streamline production and simplify user interactions. Bauhaus design is most often seen in art, architecture, and furniture, and in all of these mediums the same principles of simpicity and streamlining are applied. The legacy of the Bauhaus movement has reached a global scale and to this day modern design still adopts these principles, especially in UX/UI design.
