"FINAL PROJECT"

*OUR EXAM TIME (YOUR FINAL PROJECT DUE DATE) IS :
FRI, MAY 15, at 1:00 PM

Assignment:


Design something that's interactive

Goals:

-Be creative, and think of an interesting idea
-Plan it, design it, then make it happen
-Make something for your portfolio

Things to think about:

What do YOU want to make?
Will it be for fun, or purely informative?
What will it look like?
How much text will there be?
Will there be sound?
Who is your audience?
Who would want to look at this project?

 

Things ryanSmith doesn't want you to do:

Do not make a project consiting of random projects from other classes.
If the project is self-promotional, then make it about a few series of your works in a limitted media.

Do not make a project about a mainstream band, musician or visual artist.
You can, however, make a project about your friend's band or an unknown artist.

Requirements:

*try to use original artwork made by you, or "uncopyrighted" material

- It needs to be interactive.
- It needs to work.
- This thing should look amazing.
- If you are not comfortable drawing it in Flash, then build it by hand or with other programs.

Things you will turn in
- The URL address of your uploaded project.
- Bring in the .fla , .swf, .html or any other files in 1 directory

Grading:

attention to detail, and excellent work gets an A.
above average work gets a B.
doing the assignment gets a C.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING STARTED (or haven't made significant progress) BY THE LAST DAY OF CLASS, THEN YOUR GRADE FOR THE PROJECT WILL BE DROPPED 1 LETTER GRADE.

Timeline:

this week: (due Monday, April 27)
Get started on the Final Project as soon as possible!
A project proposal:
*Type & print 1 or 2 paragraphs explaining what your project will be, and what it will look like.
I will not be accepting emailed copies of proposals

Next week:
Keep working on the project

Monday, May 11th:
You should have a significant amount of your project completed

Friday, May 15th:
Final Project is due
