Hi, I'm Callie Shad. I'm from Ellicott City, Maryland, and I've lived there my whole life until starting at Towson. I'm studying graphic design and minoring in mass communications. I chose to major in graphic design because I’m inspired by all forms of art and design- especially typefaces, magazines, collages, photography, and prints. My art often draws inspiration from natural and organic elements, as well as my relationship with the digital world. I tend to make collages, patterns, and illustrations, and graphic design seemed like the best fit for me as a major. As of now, I would ideally like to go into the packaging design field post graduation, but life may take me elsewhere so who knows. If I could go back and major in interdisclipnary or design studies I would probably be a lot less stressed out and creatively bankrupt as I am now, but as a senior its hard not to feel the oncoming pressure to stick to what I've been working towards. I am taking this class to fill a requirement for my GD major, and I would love to learn how to code small animations into my websites this semester. Outside of class in my free time, I love to travel and explore the outdoors, spending time with my partner and friends, as well as just chilling out with the Sims, playing with my cat Hobbes, and listening to some music. I am a full time student, and currently my largest responsibilites outside of maintaining my GPA for my scholarship are balancing taking care of myself, my mental health, my cat, my relationship, and my apartment.
