My name is Samantha Wal, but you can call me Sam as well. I am a junior, majoring in graphic design here at Towson University.
I just recently joined the sorority Alpha Gamma Delta and have been navigating being a new member in this online normalcy recently.
Generally, my hobbies consist of any kind of art and crafting, and another big one is tennis. I have played since I was little and
participated on a team in high school. I am very close with my family, I have one sibling and she is a computer science major at UMD,
who will be graduating this fall. I’m excited to learn more from this class in the upcoming semester.
My work tends to be on the cartoonish side, I enjoy keeping it very minimalistic and I often lean towards color blocking and outlines,
over sketchy lines or detailed realism. The first image shown a piece I made in Graphic Design I where we played with space and design
the words to be made out of their different meanings. In my Visual Concepts class, I made the second image, which is supposed to reflect
how I feel other see me due to my shy and quiet personality and body language. I chose to color block my shadows and highlights
to get a more realistic outcome in something closer to my style. And finally in my 2D drawing class I made the third image by taking
outlines of different perspectives of a hole puncher and dividing them into five boxes, of all different sizes, to create a unique design.
