Create a logo, or identity for yourself/your site
Design, and build, an artist's website for yourself
Make a resume, or CV, with the same style of your website
*Update your business card to look like your website & resume.
Note:
Printed copies of your business card, and resume will be due when you submit your project.
- Make a great looking website, that works, and is easy to navigate
- Practice great onscreen Typography
Who's your audience?
What kind of work are you showcasing?
What is your color scheme?
What appropriate typefaces should you use?
Plan out how many works you will have on your site before you build it.
**When presenting your project during the exam day, think about it as if you were going in for a job interview.
What do you want to say about yourself and your work?
What questions should you be prepared to answer?
- there should be great looking images (that are not pixelated)
- all artwork should be labeled with a title and brief description, date, etc.
- your name, or identity, must be designed by you
- a resume (or CV.) *that matches the style of the website
note: there should be an online resume in the form of an HTML page, or a link to a .pdf file
- a brief bio
- at least 9 examples of your artwork
- a printed resume (or CV)
- a printed business card
This week:
- come up with an idea
AND
-Revisit the business card that you made at the beginning of the semester.
*Note: You can update, or redesign them.
Then, create a resume (for yourself), and design it with the same color scheme, design, typefaces, etc.
Next week:
- Keep working on the project
*CSS, and 1 HTML page, should be completed by Week#15
The following week:
- Finish the Project
*What you will turn in on the due date:
1) You will turn in a directory with:
- all images used in the site
-
all the .html pages
-
and CSS should be turned in
(I will copy them to an external hard drive, so be prepared)
2) You will present your work to the rest of the class
3) You will turn in a printed resume (or CV), and a printed business card
*NOTE: You will have the opportunity to improve your work after the due date.
Failure to turn in something on the due date will result in a 30% drop in the project grade. In other words, you will not get more than a "C" grade for late work. If you can not make it to class on the due date, to present your work, please email the professor with an explanation, and email what you completed to:
ryansmithstudent@aol.com
Your grade will be determined by your ability to turn things in on time, and follow directions.
The grade for your finished project will be based on your attention to detail, and the overall look of the website.
All webpages designed for the site should have a consistent design or "feel".
All pages should be clearly labeled, have titles, and all the links should work.
Make sure your site is easy to navigate.
Your presentation will also affect your grade.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions.
