"fascinated with contections"

Born in the blizzard of 1995, I grew up in Silver Spring, MD and lived there until I was 9. We then moved to Charleston, South Carolina where I lived until I was 19, when we moved back to Silver Spring so I could attend Montgomery College. Currently I am attending Towson Univeristy with the intent to screen into the Graphic Design Concentration and, to borrow the phrase from Ok Cupid, "laughing about it".

Following my Intaglio Etching class during my last semester at MC, I realized my love for the art of printmaking and would probably be pursuing a printmaking contentration instead if that was offered at Towson. Instead I'm trying to juggle my dual interests and ultimately learn as much as I can in all the classes I am fortunate enough to be able to attend, a priviledge often take for granted.

I was an entitely self taught artists until I was 18 and began college. I grew up homeschooled except for 3.5 months of fourth grade and 2 half days of high school. When I was 15 I took courses for high school/college credit at a local community college in South Caroina. Drawing and creating has always been second nature to me, but I still struggle to think conceptually about my artwork. My work is often very playful and kitchsy. I frequently use ice cream and confections in my work, as well as ghosts and bubble letters.
