Project D

Assignment:
Design & build a marketing website for a product

Due dates: Monday Nov. 19 or Wednesday, November 21 ( the week of Thanksgiving )

Goals:

-Demonstrate the ability to use basic CSS code
-Use Dreamweaver and/or other web design software (Fireworks, and/or Flash)
-Practice onscreen Typography
-Make something that is easy to navigate and looks great
-Be informative
-Promote something

Instructions:

-Pick a marketable product, or you can invent one
note: This should be a thing, not a person or place
*Think about your audience
-Do some research and write something about it
-Find images, or make your own illustrations
-Build an informative website

Requirements:

-the first page of your site should be saved as index.html
-all pages need to have titles
-there should be great looking images (that are not pixelated)
-a lot of information

*Your project must include some animated element (a slideshow, gif animation, or Flash)
*Your project must have some kind of mouseover behavior (swap image, or a pop-out menu)

The project should be uploaded to a server (before the due date).
Your project needs to be saved on a CD, and turned in at the time it's due.

You will be turning in a typed (and printed) paper that explains:
· what your topic is
· why you chose to do a website on this topic
· who is your audience (or who would want to look at your site)
·
how is your design based on the topic and its audience

Grading:

Your grade will be determined by your ability to turn things in on time, and follow directions. The grade for your finished project will be based on your attention to detail, and the overall look of the website. All webpages designed for the site should have a consistent design or "feel". All pages should be clearly labeled, have titles, and all the links should work. Make sure your site is easy to navigate. Your presentation will also affect your grade.
