Michaela Acton

About Me

Michaela Acton is a graphic design student who does not have nearly enough time to binge shows while knitting and drawing superheroes. She has a shop on Redbubble where she puts all her superhero drawings up as stickers. Michaela’s latest knitting project was a blanket that when she finished it she realized this whole time it had accidentally been over 12 feet wide because she did not count the stitches when she was starting it and just went by vibes.

Michaela was born [redacted] and has three younger siblings. Her family loves watching movies and doing escape rooms together. She is very competitive, loves winning, being right, and is a part of the board game club on campus, Towson Tabletop.

This past summer Michaela worked at a summer camp as a counselor and adventure staff, meaning she learned how to set up and safely run high ropes elements (such as the zipline, vomit comet, and high ropes course). This continues a trend where Michaela only works jobs that her 10 year old self would’ve picked, adventure staff, candy store, next world domination or something. She has also worked a variety of campus jobs but those never feel like real jobs once you’ve experienced the high pressure world of sorting the 12 flavor gummy bears.

Michaela consumes media somewhat obsessively and would like to recommend the following if you are not familiar with them:

Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow
This is a phenomenal miniseries following Supergirl on an epic space adventure, the writing is beautiful, the art is completely astounding. Perfectly characterizes Supergirl for potentially the first time ever while she takes public transportation and fights dinosaurs.
Rogue One: A Star Wars story
This is my favorite movie of all time. It has everything you could possibly want, great characters, excellent story, a heist, literally everything.
The Adventures of Amina Al Sirafi
This is the first book in recent memory so fun and with a cover so cool I had to buy it. Retired pirate captain gets the crew back together for one last job.
Ducktales (2017)
Genuinely one of my favorite shows, insanely stacked voice cast, funnier than it has any right to be, entirely iconic.
Theater Camp
This is just a very funny, very silly, very enjoyable movie.
