ART 365

Final Project:

Due date:

(Wednesday) MAY 18th, 2022

at the beginning of your Exam Time (6:00pm)

Design a logo & identity for yourself, a work of art, or a brand.

On the exam day, imagine you are going in for a job interview.
What questions should you be prepared to ask?
Who or what are your artistic influences?
What should you bring (résumé or CV)?
What is your artist's statement?
What time should you be there?
What should you wear?

Things to think about:

- Who is your audience?
- What will your logo look like?
- How does your design relate to the subject matter?
- Will you find images, or make your own illustrations?

- Demonstrate the ability to design a professional looking website
( you can use a Template)
- Use spectacular on-screen Typography
- Make something that is easy to navigate & easy to read

- Come up with an idea
- Draw site structure and wire frames
- Design and build a beautiful website based on your research.

- Your webpages should look amazing on desktop and mobile devices :)

- You must use high quality images
- When saving your work, do not use spaces, or start file names (and folder names) with capital letters.

- All webpages must have titles (no untitled documents) & at least 1 heading
- The 1st page should be saved as index.html

Your project must be turned in by the due date, and uploaded to a server before the exam time
As always, it must look good (after it's uploaded)

* More importantly, make something that will look great in your portfolio

this week:

- Come up with an idea!!
- Think of how to apply user experience design to a website.
- Draw wire frames and a site structure.
- Design and build an informative website based on your research.
- Come up with a color scheme and basic design (background, typefaces, font colors, etc.)
*Start designing your logo*

next week:

** make or get: high resolution images, photos, illustrations, charts, graphs, and/or a logo.
And, you could make or get a video or two.

- Keep working on the project
- Practice uploading files to your server space

the following weeks:

- make your webpages look better
- finish a draft of the project (due MAY 11th)

what you will turn in on the due date:

You will turn in a directory with:
- all images used in the site
- all the .html pages (if you designed them yourself)
- and CSS should be turned in
(I will copy them to an external hard drive, so be prepared)

You will present your work to the rest of the class

3) Please upload the project to:

*NOTE: You will not have the opportunity to improve your work after the due date.

Failure to turn in something on the due date will result in a 30% drop in the project grade. In other words, you will not get more than a "C" grade for late work. If you can not make it to class on the due date, to present your work, please email the professor with an explanation, and email what you completed.

Your grade will be determined by your ability to turn things in on time, and follow directions.
The grade for your finished project will be based on your attention to detail, and the overall look of the website.

All webpages designed for the site should have a consistent design or "feel".
All pages should be clearly labeled, have titles, and all the links should work.
Make sure your site is easy to navigate.
Your presentation will also affect your grade.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions.
